Intro to the Make-Down

Hey Ladies and Gents,

I started this blog because I've really been into make-up lately. I don't really like putting it on myself so this isn't one of those blogs but I love the products. Going into an Ulta or Sephora is like a day in heaven for me. I cannot get enough of looking at Makeupgeek.com or watching Jaclyn Hill make-up hauls. I love watching application tutorials and drugstore bests. Why, if you don't like wearing it? Well I do wear a little make-up. Everyone can use a tiny lift. I wear a little shadow, blush, eyeliner, and mascara but I absolutely love the products. Everything about them! The packaging, the colors, the smells, the slight nuances, and just everything in between.

I bought a "Blusher" by Cover Girl in the beginning of my foray into cosmetics and I hate it. It is completely pigment-less. We all know pigment is the thing! So I decided to contact CG concerning my disappointment and recent observations (from YouTube).

Email Body:

Hi,

I recently bought the CG Blusher 110 trio in Peaches. I was highly disappointed. No matter how much I apply I hardly get any color and pinching my cheeks would last longer. After purchasing and being disappointed by the blush I started to take notice of big YouTube make-up artists "faves," Cover Girl isn't even mentioned in their collections. Jaclyn Hill has every expensive product known to women; YSL, Armani, Chanel, Too Faced & etc. Within that collection she has about 15 gel liners of varying, high, prices but she always goes back to her trusty Maybelline Blackest Black gel liner. Marlena the COO of Makeupgeek.com has her own line of cosmetics and worked at MAC for years and always goes back to her trusty L'Oreal Original Voluminous mascara. Everyone and their mother is in love with Milani Luminoso. These drugstore brands have several items in their collections that big make-up artists prefer over the expensive stuff but never Cover Girl because pigmentation is key. Each one loves these drugstore items above the rest because they are highly pigmented. CG is never mentioned; go trendy and up your pigmentation. I was so disappointed by this blush. I would love it if you proved me wrong and sent me some highly pigmented blushes in peach/coral or just as happy with the promise of trendy products with more pigment in the future.

Thanks,
Adriana

This got me thinking... Where can I find information like this without watching a million videos. Well, I can't but I will be happy to provide you all with the fruits of my labor. Tell you what drugstore products supersede the quality of expensive products. Not just because of price but quality. I'll be letting you know what brands surpass other brands in quality. I'll let you know what companies react to my email complaints and praises the best. What kind of customer service I get from different companies and everything you need to know to get the best quality make-up with the best service and the best part is you won't have to look anywhere else but here. You'll never buy a drugstore brand again that you hate without getting some reimbursement for it if you follow my advice. I'll also be throwing in some how-to/DIY on making cosmetics, what to do with leftovers, and all that good stuff. Finally, I'll be putting up some "tutorials" on how to do your make-up like only a regular (not make up artist) can do, less is more.

We're going to test the cosmetic moguls and win!!!! Here I come.... L'Oreal, Maybelline, MAC, Urban Decay, Estee Lauder, and those of you I haven't listed I'll get you soon.

Note: I do know that some of the listed brands are under the same umbrella and I will go for the head cheese like P&G (CG is one of theirs) but we'll hit them individually too. Find out if buying MAC gets you something over buying Estee Lauder; different price points- same umbrella.
